This sessionprovides a comprehensive overview of established and emerging research methodsin audiovisual translation studies. Starting with conceptual research, i.e. studiesthat prioritize the exploration of ideas over the interrogation of data, theoverview places particular emphasis on empirical research methods.Observational research methods, illustrated by eye-tracking studies, addressthe perceptual and cognitive aspects of audiovisual translation, with a view toinform professional practices and achieve a better understanding of how viewersprocess information in screen‐basedenvironments. Interactionist research methods, involving the use ofquestionnaires or interviews, bring to the fore important considerationspertaining to the reception of audiovisual translations. Documentary methodshave traditionally taken the form of archival research, but they are now alsoat the centre of new netnographic methodologies – which require the immersionof the investigator as a participant in online translator communities. Finally,computer‐heldcorpora provide the main focus of the exploration of quantitative researchmethods in audiovisual translation scholarship.

主講人簡(jiǎn)介     

Pérez-González博士先后就讀于英國(guó)伯明翰大學(xué)、西班牙瓦倫西亞大學(xué)等大學(xué)，2004年起進(jìn)入英國(guó)曼徹斯特大學(xué)任教至今，是多個(gè)國(guó)際著名期刊的主編和顧問(wèn)。2011年至2014年擔(dān)任國(guó)際期刊TheInterpreter and Translator Trainer (ITT) 的主編，現(xiàn)為ITT、InTRAlinea 和Papers Lextra 的顧問(wèn)委員會(huì)委員，同時(shí)是包括TheTranslator，TheJournal of Language and Politics在內(nèi)的多個(gè)翻譯學(xué)和語(yǔ)言學(xué)國(guó)際著名期刊的客座主編和審稿人。

研究方向和興趣包括媒體翻譯、字幕翻譯，多模態(tài)語(yǔ)篇分析，電子媒體和文化等。主要研究領(lǐng)域是影視翻譯，尤其關(guān)注業(yè)余翻譯者在影視產(chǎn)業(yè)扮演的調(diào)節(jié)和干預(yù)角色。其研究調(diào)查了業(yè)余影視翻譯者對(duì)于塑造媒體行業(yè)發(fā)展動(dòng)態(tài)所具有的積極作用。作為最早涉足影視翻譯的學(xué)者之一，Pérez-González博士經(jīng)過(guò)15年的影視翻譯教學(xué)和研究，已是國(guó)際學(xué)界公認(rèn)的影視翻譯研究的主要代表人物。其代表性研究成果包括近期Routledge出版社出版的著作AudiovisualTranslation: Theories, Methods and Issues（2014）、與MonaBaker、合作編著的系列專(zhuān)輯CriticalPerspectives on Citizen Media （2016）以及與Routledge出版社簽訂來(lái)年出版的RoutledgeHandbook of Audiovisual Translation （2017）。他曾在國(guó)際翻譯頂級(jí)期刊 TheTranslator，Perspectives: Studies in Translatology，Meta，InternationalJournal of Cultural Studies 及 Language andIntercultural Communication 發(fā)表近40篇關(guān)于影視翻譯研究、多媒體傳播研究和電影研究以及語(yǔ)言、翻譯和法律等交叉學(xué)科問(wèn)題的期刊論文和專(zhuān)輯論文，7本學(xué)術(shù)著作和編著。
